The Last Night and First Day | Photography

The digital empire has never ceases serializing pictures and text messages calculated through hundreds of millions of digits into the nerves of every mobile phone user.

The evidence you identified may have been coded long ago, and your habitual life is staged every day. You start to no longer question and there is nothing worth paying attention to. In the end, you are soberly feeding the virus and become your own complicity. ‘The Last Night and First Day’ is a title selected from a poem by ‘Haizi’. During the long nights of severe winter, this work expresses the poet’s anticipation for the dawn to appear.

The video in this project respectively show the self in the night and day on the monitor. In black and white form expressing mutually opposed concepts, rationality and madness, language and silence. These pictures and text messages that are shattered in an orderly manner, explain how all mankind has fallen into the night step by step, and finally faced with an extremely deep and intriguing spiritual crisis. May we stare at the night at the same time having the ability to critically think and perceive clarity once again.
